Hello gorgeous! How are you today? I received an interesting sample for the blog from Wings of Nature. They are organic snack bars produced using their unique cold process which allows the bars to maintain their natural flavors and textures.
I tried the espresso one first, naturally and liked how coffee'ish it tasted. Which, before I go make myself an iced coffee to enjoy with the rest of my chocolately espresso tasting healthy snack bar from Wings of Nature let me remind you to be kind and good to yourself.
The things around us can be harsh, critical, judgemental and highly opinionated and not usually in favor.
So I'm here to encourage you to do something nice for yourself, like having a new snack bar or get yourself a treat of an ice coffee too! Or take some time to do something that just you want to do for yourself. I find as a mom, I am always doing for my family, or work, or church, or something and taking time off for myself can be a challenge. If I can do it, you can do it!
p.s. If I can compete in a triathlon, so can you! Consider it....

Hello friends! Below are before and after pictures of me using Dr. Miracles follicle healer collection. In the first picture, I have already slathered up my scalp with the hydrating oil.
The next step that you don't see is that I have put on a pack of the deep conditioning treatment and sat around the house drinking coffee with my hair baggied up and a dryer warmed towel wrapped around it to really sink in the conditioning treatment.

Next I move on to the washing and drying and below is what my hair looks like after the treatment.

The hydrating serum can be used daily and massaged into the scalp.
The styling pomade and follicle healer creme can be used daily and I put some on the Mancub. He noticed the tingly effect on his scalp and liked his hair style. Which is currently a process of growing out a Beckham and he hopes growing into a blue Sonic styled mohawk.

I'm not saying no, and I'm not saying yes to this hairstyle he wants. I'm simple saying that we are weeks away from starting school, is this really the look you are going for? More on that later.

I enjoyed these products, though they are geared more towards african american hair. So go get some and give Dr. Miracles a try. It can be found at mass retailers/drugstores near you. And please, visit their website because they have amazing YouTube videos! http://www.drmiracles.com/

Style Your Hair Like a Pro

This is a TotalBeauty.com hairstyles article

Getting your hair done at the salon is such a treat, but what if you could work your hairstyling tools like a pro? Now you can with these expert tips.

Get tips

Oh yummy yummy! I am such a fragrance junkie! I just love scents and fragrances and perfumes of all kinds!
It was a real treat to get a sample of these two scents; one by Faith Hill called Faith and the other by Halle Berry called Pure Orchid.
What I love about these most is that they are light and perfect for finishing out the summer, and if you haven't picked your signature summer scent yet now is the perfect time because there is still plenty of summer time left!

What I really really like about these is they are the perfect purse atomizer size. I like to refresh my scent as the day goes on and with this in my summer safari bag and as I am getting ready to get on the road again, I now have a quaint size that can travel with me and is TSA size approved to board the plane.
I don't know about you, but I am so over having TSA change their mind on what size is approved and which isn't when I am going through security and the security staff just happens to like what's in my caboodle. Rawr!

So, pick up a Pure Orchid by Halle Berry which is a floral woody fragrance or a Faith Hill parfum which is a sparkling floral bouquet ( no wonder I like this one so much!).

These are great gifts, good for backpacks going "back to school", perfect for destination weddings, traveling or just keeping in your purse or desk drawer at work! For only $10, you can't beat the treat!

Ah yes, that's me in a set of J&D Beauty Luxor Pro Style Stix. These are not your momma's foam pink rollers!

So I had dry hair, then I sectioned it out and then spritzed it with my favorite setting lotion Lotta Body til slightly damp.

Next I let it set about an hour. No blow drying, though you can use a dryer cap, sit under the hood dryer or use your hair dryer to help heat set the hair.

The next step was to unroll the foam Pro Style Stix and shake out my beachy waves for going to the pool.
So what do you think? Soft twirly curls that look effortless! And actually, it was pretty simple.

The Pro Style Stix come in seven different sizes ranging from 1/4" to 7/8", and each is 8" long and color coded for easy sorting. The package includes recommendations for hair lengths, and options for tight curls to large volume with lots of body!

You can find them at drugstores for about five bucks! Go get some and use it now because the Fall 2010 trend is back to straight hair!

Oh yeahs! I likes it! For me, and anyone else with a red sunburn on the face, this extremely gentle cleanser was soothing to the skin! I have a bit of a burn from swimming/biking/running outside for tri-training and I wear alot of sunscree. Yes, I still get a burn through the high spf and I think it has to do with amount of time in the sun and lack of reapplying said sunscreen?
This sample came just in the nick of time! It is soft, low foaming, rinses clean and has very little scent. I really enjoyed it and my sunburn did too!

I love a success story! This contest is so " the American way". Enjoy the story!
###
Contest Created by Director Brett Ratner Gives Ten, Hard Working Americans the Chance to Win $100,000

(New York, NY – July 19, 2010) — Mitchum, the hardest working antiperspirant/deodorant, today announced the top ten finalists for Mitchum’s “Hardest Working Person in America” (HWPIA) campaign. Mitchum’s “Hardest Working” campaign, created by director Brett Ratner, founder of the creative content company Brett Ratner Brands (BRB), launched in May 2010 and was designed to find, highlight and reward the hardest working man or woman in the country.

“I spent the last week watching videos of extremely hard working Americans. I’m overwhelmed by the dedication and drive of the people who created their own creative and inspiring films and participated in the contest,” said Brett Ratner. “Albert Maysles' portrayal of earnest people at the start of the contest inspired hundreds of submissions from across the country. So much hard work went into each video and we had a difficult time narrowing the field down to ten compelling finalists.”

The finalists selected include a man who is cleaning up the nation’s rivers; a U.S. Air Force Fighter pilot; an 88-year-old working mom; an elementary school custodial worker; the founder of First Response Team of America; a man helping young campers build character, respect and leadership; a blacksmith; an actor, trash-hauler, artist, silkscreener and landscaper; a construction worker and dad who moonlights as a college student; and an Army drill sergeant.

“Mitchum challenged regular people to create reality films telling their true stories of hard work, and the public responded in a strong way,” said Alan T. Ennis, CEO of Revlon, Mitchum’s parent company. “Mitchum is a brand that prides itself on working hard and these finalists has proven they do just that. Not only are they finalists, they are true Mitchum brand ambassadors. Through this contest, Mitchum and the public have the power to make a difference in someone’s life.”

Beginning today, the public can log on to mitchumhardestworking.com and vote for the “Hardest Working Person in America.” The grand prize winner of the contest will receive a $100,000 cash prize and be the subject of a short film by legendary documentarian Albert Maysles and co-filmmaker Bradley Kaplan, with a first-place winner also receiving a $20,000 cash prize. The In addition, Mitchum will also present an “Audience Award” winner with a $5,000 prize and a “golden” Mitchum trophy for the video which received the most votes in the first round of the contest. Voting will close on August 15, 2010 and all three winners will be announced between August 16-23, 2010.

Amazing! Lavanila The Healthy Deoderant: withstands 112 degrees

Get More Bang for the Beauty Buck

This is a TotalBeauty.com beauty tips article

Beauty treatments are expensive, right? But we picked the brains of everyone from brow to makeup experts to give you insider-y tips on how to make them last longer -- consequently saving you money.

See tips

Take a look at this picture. I tried this today and it worked. Usually the natural deoderants don't, but I"m here to tell you that as I go through the master cleanse, sweat through the humid Arizona monsoon season, this product worked. Now it's a deoderant not an anti-perspirant. So yes, I still sweat and in fact did have sweat rings in my armpits, though I also had the sweaty band around my middle and a big wet strip down my back and that's what happens when you sit through swim lessons and soccer lessons outside in the hot sun. Alas! I did not stink! Nope, not a scent. Only the sweet hint of limey grapefruit. The product is cool to the touch when you apply and didn't rub off on my clothes. So, get it from Sephora or on their website, I think it's worth your time!

http://www.lavanila.com/

I also tried: The Healthy Sunscreen and I liked it though I"m still in love with my La Roche Posay spf 45 matte sunscreen. This has a high zinc oxide content which adds barrier protection
and it held up under the chlorine water of the pool. It's good, I like it, but not ready to switch from the matte sunscreen by LRP.

I'm excited to explore more of the Lavanila line on my next trip to Sephora and maybe you should too! Enjoy!

11 Questions to Ask Your Skin Doctor

Enjoy the news from Neutrogena and the Wave for Change campaign. I think Vanessa Hudgens is such a cutie! Check out the tips from makeup artist Karan Mitchell and practice some for yourself too! Stay tuned: below there is a way to get a free set of mascara/eyeliner from Neutrogena to help get Vanessa's beachy look!

Makeup artist, Karan Mitchell created Vanessa Hudgens look for the kick-off of Neutrogena’s Wave for Change campaign at the Neutrogena Beach House in Malibu, California:
For the beach-side event, Vanessa wanted her makeup to be “golden and whimsical.” Since it was a sunny day I made sure to use products that were not only beautiful but were packed with SPF protection.

SKIN
Even bare, Vanessa’s skin looked soft and bright. She’s been using the new Neutrogena Wave® Sonic Power Cleanser and her skin felt incredibly smooth as I applied her makeup.

First I prepped her skin first with Neutrogena Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50. It is a liquid moisturizer that sinks right into the skin so it wears beautifully under makeup. For her foundation I used Neutrogena Healthy SkinÃ’ Liquid Makeup SPF 20 in Tan and I perked up her eyes with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin® Brightening Eye Perfector in Medium.

On her cheeks I used the bronze shade of the Neutrogena Healthy Skin® Custom Glow™ Blush & Bronzer in Natural Glow which I also used under the cheekbones for contour.

EYES
I started with the peach base color from the NeutrogenaÒ Nourishing Eye Quad in Butter Crème and applied it all over her eyelid, up to the brow. It has an SPF of 15, so protect delicate eyelids from the damaging effects of the sun.

Next, I used the copper shade on her lids from the NeutrogenaÃ’ Nourishing Eye Quad in Copper Glow. I also applied the golden shade to the middle and the inside corners of her lids with a dampened brush.

Then, I lined only the top of her eyelid with the NeutrogenaÃ’ Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black and applied some individual lashes. I finished her eyes with two coats of NeutrogenaÃ’ Healthy Lengths Mascara in Carbon Black.
LIPS
For a peachy pout I used Neutrogena MoistureShineÃ’ Lipstick, with SPF 20, in Peach a Boo, and layered the Neutrogena MoistureShineÃ’ Gloss in Healthy Peach over top of it for a glassy finish.

Ps. Learn all about the Neutrogena Wave for Change campaign here: http://www.facebook.com/neutrogena
To get your free Neutrogena black eyeliner and matching mascara, comment on what your favorite Neutrogena product is! Winner will be notified by email, must be over 18 years old, and live in the continental United States. Good luck!
