Help to heal aggressively treated skin: these products will see you through the gooey phase-Heliocare!

Hello Gorgeous!
I love Christmas! I got an early Christmas present-which is and is not an actual present.
I got several freckles that had changed their size, shape, color and texture.

Oh joy!

So that brought an immediate and aggressive session of skin treatment that left several spots on my face, nose to be exact-that needed some extra tlc and care.

These are the products that helped get me through the gooey phase, past the crust and into the bright red healing phase.

Heliocare, Triderma, Ora's Amazing Herbals and Hylands Arnica.

I would show you a photo of what the treated skin looked like, but it was so gory that I think it resembled a Walking Dead zombie!

I live in Arizona, it's sunny, even when it's raining. So the most important thing I needed to do was a thick layer of sunscreen. Yes. On my oozy gooey skin I had to put a thick layer of the Triderma Post Laser Aloe & Zinc Occlusive™

It's so awesome and thick it reminded me of the old school lifeguard nose sunblock.
occlusive cream. It's not technically a sunblock, though provides a barrier to the sun. Plus it's moisturizing. So on my healing skin, it gave both a moisture barrier and a barrier to encroaching rays. I also applied it in a thick layer and did not rub it in.

I used both arnica cream and arnica pills to help with bruising and pain. I prefer the Hyland brand of tablet versus the Boiron because I struggled to get the dispensing mechanism open.

That open tub is the arnica cream from Triderma and it feels good on the skin.

I have always used sunscreen from college on, but everyday in the sun between birth and leaving high school I maybe used sunscreen and if I did it was spf 2. Maybe spf 4.  Now I don't go outside without spf 50 on and it has to have a zinc base to it so that it makes a barrier between my skin and the sun.

In case you haven't met HelioCare yet-it's sunscreen from the inside out. I took a sample bottle of it a while back as a blog post, but now, with my skin care and sun protection on high alert-I'm definitely taking it again. thanks to HelioCare for sending me another sample. From here on out I will be buying my monthly supply at Amazon where I have discovered that they make a spf 50 gel sunscreen. I'm interested! You can also get at Walgreens.

The powerful antioxidant formula in each capsule of HELIOCARE® is naturally derived from the extract of Polypodium leucotomos (PLE), a fern native to Central and South America that has been used for centuries as a remedy for skin related conditions.

This fern, which was once an aquatic plant, adapted to life on land and created its own protection from exposure to harsh UV rays. By utilizing this organically grown extract, HELIOCARE® delivers antioxidants that start helping protect the skin from the first day you take it.*

HELIOCARE®’s active extract contains antioxidants, which aid in eliminating free radicals produced by sun exposure. A reduction in these potentially dangerous free radicals helps to maintain younger-looking, more resilient skin.*
Sunscreens play an important role in protecting your skin from the sun. However, many environmental factors can reduce the effectiveness of your sunscreen, including weather, location and what you are doing in the sun (swimming, sweating, etc.).
Because HELIOCARE® is a daily capsule taken orally, it benefits skin over your entire body. However, HELIOCARE® is not a sunscreen and should be used in addition to topical sun protection.
Heliocare is a daily dietary supplement.

Finally, these two wee vials of oil are what helped with the itch brought on by the crust healing. Yeah, that's gross but true.

So whenever my skin started to get dry and tight, I just put some Ora's Amazing face oil on. I really think it helped the skin treatment heal faster! I'm a fan now. Full size bottles are on order!

Long story short: eat healthy fats, wear sunscreen and the sunblock kind-meaning large sunglasses, reapply, wide brimmed hat, reapply, and possibly start using the UV meters that are available.

It's a good idea so you don't get some freckles who get any bright ideas about changing size, shape and color!
